GRAEF, ALVIN WALTER, 92, was called to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 28, 2006. A native of Louisville, KY, he was retired from Reliance Universal and an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. His bachelor's and master's degrees are from Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville. He served on the board of Governors of Lutheran Laymen's League; and Boards of Directors for Cedar Lake Lodge, Seymour Lutheran Home and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Youth Board. He was president of du Pont Manual High School Alumni Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Erna Schumacher Graef; his sister, Naomi Graef Holverstott; his brother, Herbert Graef; and his parents, William and Anna Moorman Graef. He is survived by his three children; Steve (Catherine) Graef of Greenville, SC, Paula (Jim) Sauer of Worthington, OH, and Barbara (Bill) Haller of Louisville; six grandchildren, Mark and Jim Graef of Salt Lake City, Heather Sauer of Chicago, Jenny Sauer of Cincinnati, Sandy (Matt) Haller Gentry of San Diego, and Steve (Leigh Ann) Haller of Buford, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Rebecca Haller, Katherine Haller, and Gabriella Gentry. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 8305 Nottingham Parkway, with burial in Resthaven. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Monday.
