GRUBB,
JOHN CLINTON, 92, of Winter Park, FL, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at
Baptist Hospital East palliative care surrounded by his loving family. A
native of Catlettsburg, KY, Grubb lived in Ashland, Louisville and Winter
Park. Grubb had a long successful career with Capital Holding Corp. where he
worked for Commonwealth Life then retired as president of National Standard
Life in Orlando, FL. He served on the board of Capital Holding Corp., Sun
Trust Bank, Pan American Bank, American Sun Life and Orlando Country Club.
He was a charter member of Hunting Creek Country Club. He is survived by his
wife of 71 years, Margaret Ann Ball; daughters, Nancy Grubb Lorenz, (Don),
Taylorsville and Jonnie Grubb Shouse (Ron) St. Petersburg, FL; six
grandchildren, Patty Loeser, Taylorsville, Jack Lorenz, Anchorage, Stacy
Smith, Panama City, FL, Susie Lorenz, Glasgow, Stephen Shouse, Plant City,
FL and Stephanie Keene, Plant City; 20 great- grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews and a host friends. Visitation will be held Monday at Pearson's,
149 Breckenridge Lane, from noon-2 p.m., with services immediately following
at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery. The family would like to
thank the wonderful staff of nurses and doctors at Baptist East Hospital for
their kind, loving care in his end days. The family is requesting in lieu of
flowers, donations be made to the Baptist Hospital East Palliative Care. |
